Well, for one thing, it is all about Bocce. The game that has Key West talking about for 8 month of the year.
56 teams compete twice a year during the Spring and Fall seasons on 4 nights each week on the 7 courts which have just recently been redone.
In a true community effort it took City workers, league members and local businesses only ca. 4 weeks to complete this enormous project. Courts were lengthened by 2 feet and the space between and around the 7 courts were filled with concrete to make the area handicapped friendly.
On each court leftover bathroom tiles donated to the league were used to create mosaics with its letters in it from A through G. 
Volunteers spent endless hours to complete the work and it shows the dedication and enthusiasm which Key Westers are commonly known for.
